The Adidas Yung 1 was first debuted in January in an all-white colourway. Sneakerheads were very quick to point out the similarity the trainer shared with the Yeezy Boost 700’s. All this talk and controversy has led to them becoming one of the most anticipated sneakers this summer.
With its chunky silhouette and retro-inspired design, these sneakers are very on-trend. Adidas has been slow to jump on the chunky sneaker band wagon, which is one of the biggest trends in footwear over the last 12 months. Adidas’ main competitor, Nike, were on point as usual and beat them to it with the release of the M2K Tekno’s which have been a huge success, selling out in most sizes, at most retailers.
Although the sneakers were first leaked in a minimal all-white colourway, the Yung1’s will first be released in a palette made up of navy, red and white. The upper consists of a classic mesh construction, nubuck panels and three red canvas stripes. The classic EVA midsole helps create the chunky silhouette, whilst the trefoil branding on the tongue helps create a 90’s look.
The Yung 1 is set to drop on the 21st of June on Adidas’s online store, as well as select retailers. The sneaker will retail at £115.00.
